Holy Week at St. Anne's

The joyful depth of Easter is most powerfully revealed when we enter whole-heartedly into the drama of Holy Week.

Thursday, April 18, 6:30 pm: Maundy Thursday

We gather around tables for a celebration meal and Eucharist, and foot washing to commemorate Jesus last night with his disciples, and his commandment to love one another.  Then we journey to the sanctuary to witness the stripping of the altar, remembering Jesus passion.

Thursday, April 18, 9:00 pm through Friday, 2:00 pm: Vigil at the Altar of Repose

Sign up to watch with Christ for one hour throughout the night until 2:00 pm on Friday.

Friday, April 19:  Good Friday -- we remember Jesus death.

2:00 pm Stations of the Cross -- Walk the "way of the cross" with Jesus and prepare to observe the traditional hour of his death.

7:00 pm Good Friday Service -- We hear John's passion story, and offer our prayers for the whole world at this solemn service.

Saturday, April 20, 8:30 pm:  Great Vigil of Easter

We begin with the first fire outside in the peace garden, then move to a candle lit vigil, hearing the great stories of the people of God.  After renewing our baptismal vows, the black curtain falls, and the first Alleluias of Easter ring out.

Sunday, April 21, 9 and 11 am:  Easter Sunday!

Choir will sing at both services.  Easter Egg hunt to follow the 9:00 am service.  Get your bonnet on and your alleluias out!
