May 14th: Good Deeds with Beads
Join us after worship on Mother’s Day for a special visit from Council for the Homeless and Good Deeds with Beads. A ministry of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Good Deeds with Beads (GDWB) is dedicated to making and selling beaded bracelets, earrings, and lanyards (and more) with all proceeds directed to the Council for the Homeless and to other efforts at helping people who are homeless in our community. Council for the Homeless uses the GDWB funding to help men, women, and children meet their basic needs that will help end their homelessness. Examples include job training class fees, work boots or uniforms, replacement ID, food handler’s permit, or apartment rental application fee. GDWB was founded in 2013 and has raised almost $50,000 through sales at congregations, bazaars, and work places. Most items are only $5 and make perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, volunteers, teachers, or yourself!
During worship that day, we will hear more about this partnership in the community.
